“Ms. Christina Cuttitta is a five (5) year veteran of
the CSTEP program. Ms. Cuttitta began her academic career
as a pre-freshman in the pre- freshmen CSTEP summer program
at the College of Staten Island. Her interests in medical
school lead her to pursue an undergraduate degree in biology.
During Ms. Cuttitta undergraduate career, she conducted a
novel research involving Taurine's interactions with pancreatic
Beta cells in Marrakech, Morocco. She also participated in
a research assignment at an international research internship
looking at fetal neurodevelopmental outcomes following antenatal
exposure to chorioamnionitis at the University of Maastricht
in the Netherlands. Ms. Cuttitta is currently pursuing a master’s
degree in Developmental Neuroscience and working on the Crystallization
of the GABA(A) receptor using an acoustic droplet extraction
project at Brookhaven National Laboratory. “
