Significant Professional or Academic Accomplishments:
When Ronald McHenry entered the college as a pre-freshman
through the CSTEP summer program, he thought he might apply
his interest and talent in art to medical illustrations. After
much thought, he decided to pursue biological sciences exclusively.
Ronald was very active as a student. He conducted research
on campus on Identification of Novel CTX-M Extended Spectrum
Beta-Lactamases in Escherichia coli Clinical Isolates which
he presented at the CSTEP Annual Conference in 2008.
During that same year, he was honored for his research presentation
at the Annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minority
Students. (ABRCMS)
During the summer of 2009, Ronald traveled to Madrid, Spain
through the MARC program. There at El Instituto de Fermentaciones
Industriales, he conducted supervised research based on campylobacter.
Graduated in December 2010 with a B.S. in Biological Sciences.
