Significant Professional or Academic Accomplishments:
Joining the University at Buffalo’s Science and Technology
Enrichment Program at the beginning of her sophomore year
at Hutchinson Technical High School, Keira Grant has represented
S.T.E.P. as an exceptional student. Her extracurricular activities,
along with S.T.E.P., included Buffalo-area Engineering Awareness
for Minorities, cheerleading, swim, volleyball, and participation
with the Omega Mentoring Program. In addition, Ms. Grant was
a participant in the 2010 Delta Sigma Theta Miss Debutante
Program. During her time as a S.T.E.P. student Keira was provided
with internship opportunities with The Buffalo Science Museum
and the Erie County Medical Center’s Hemo-Dialysis Unit
and the Cardiac Step-Down Unit. Keira’s attendance at
the 13th Annual S.T.E.P. Conference along with two other S.T.E.P.
students served as only one of her many accomplishments with
our program.
Prior to her graduation and acceptance to North Carolina
Agricultural and Technology State University, Keira received
over $12,000 from the Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo,
Norman Fisher Scholarship, and Delta Sigma Theta Scholarship
and various scholastic scholarships as she pursues her Bachelors
of Science in Chemical Engineering.
