Significant Professional or Academic Accomplishments: My name is X-Avier Miller. I hail from the South-End neighborhood of Albany, New York. I am an Alumni of Green Tech High Charter School and also part of the first graduating class of 2012. I was a part of the AMC STEP program in the latter portion of my sophomore year, and both my junior and senior year. AMC has benefited me exponentially in my first semester college experience; academically and personally. The program has adorned me with the ability to think critically and analytically at a high speed. This program also further motivated me to fall in love with Biology and medicine, while even teaching me the beauty of efficacy. I have fond memories of the program, and I have made a genuine group of friends that are like minded from my AMC experience. AMC is rivaled by none in teaching its STEP scholars the value of education, and the tenacity needed to overcome anything that may hinder their growth. AMC STEP is not just an extracurricular program; it's a close-knit family that raises young scholars up to be influential in their households, communities, and on a global level. I am now proudly attending Morehouse College pursuing a BS in Biology. I plan on matriculating through college and on to Medical school to take up a practice in the field of medicine; Surgery specifically. I would like to thank the AMC STEP program for believing in me and guiding me in the right direction so that my dreams may come to fruition. I am extremely appreciative of this and look forward to giving back in the future.
