CSTEP Students Attended
the 18th Annual University of Buffalo McNair Research Conference

McNair Research Conference |
St. Lawrence McNair Scholars, a University Fellow and CSTEP
students attended the 18th annual University of Buffalo McNair
Research Conference, held in July in Niagara Falls. Thirteen
St. Lawrence students attended, with 10 presenting research.
About 500 undergraduates from around the country attended.
One of the largest undergraduate research conferences of
its kind in the U.S., students attended a graduate school
fair, participated in workshops on how to apply to Ph.D. programs
and visited University of Buffalo's Graduate School to learn
about doctoral and master's degree programs. A highlight of
the event was a keynote and coffeehouse by Freeman A. Hrabowski,
president of University of Maryland, Baltimore County.
McNair Scholars who presented at the conference were Jose
Alejandro, Shaneequa Castle, Terry Cox, Tiara Davis, Star-Quana
Jackson, Omaru Kabia, Marilyn Limon, Emmanuel Moreno and Fatima
Sall. University Fellow Alexis Dorsey also gave a research
presentation, and CSTEP participants in attendance were Andre
Chavez, Matthew Dudley, and Scarlett Nieves.
