About this Event: With the coordination
of St. John’s University’s School of Education,
Baruch College STEP Academy hosted 27 teachers from Korea
as part of the Gifted Education Korean Summer Institute 2011.
With the help of interpreters from Columbia University, the
teachers spent the day observing STEP classes and meeting
with STEP faculty to discuss pedagogical methods over lunch.
Afterwards, the coordinator from the institute wrote:
On behalf of the Gifted Education Korean Summer Institute
2011, I would like to thank you and your staff for your
warm hospitality. We are very grateful for our excursion
to your STEP program. It taught the teachers about the STEP
program and also about your staff’s interaction with
the students. The teachers were very impressed with the
students’ interaction with high level material and
that the teachers were well educated in their subjects.
