Posted May 3, 2012

POTSDAM -- Teachers from Harrisville and Heuvelton were recognized by Clarkson University recently during its IMPETUS recognition dinner for teachers who have coached in the program this year.

Special recognition was given to Nikki Taylor from Harrisville Central School and Eric Barr from Heuvelton Central School for their outstanding commitment and service.

IMPETUS stands for Integrated Math and Physics for Entry to Undergraduate STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics).

Approximately 175 students from 11 school districts participated in IMPETUS, which is funded by a New York State STEP (Science & Technology Entry Program) grant.
